Preventing labour exploitation in cleaning service procurement
Hansel participated in the joint development and peer learning project led by Motiva and HEUNI in 2025. The aim of the project was to create a supervision model for the implementation of working conditions and terms of cleaning procurement during the contract period and to promote social responsibility and a fair working life.
Hansel has identified the risks of labour exploitation in certain industries, including cleaning services, and aims to combat these risks in the preparation of procurement and in the monitoring during the contract period. We also support our customers in their contract supervision by providing support materials to facilitate supervision, for example.
We learned good lessons from the project and heard about good practices that we can use in developing our own operations. In fact, we have already included these in the preparations for the new contract period.
